Dear Colleagues of the Dental Team,
CAD/CAM has been an important part of our world in many aspects since the 1950s and in 1980s has been integrated in dentistry. It is quite surprising to witness how fast the field of CAD/CAM and computerized dentistry is developing. A quick glance at the last IDS in Koln, Germany and IDEM in Singapore show not only the extraordinary improvements to this technology, but the vast number of manufacturers that are joining the market as well.
Exciting new developments in dental materials and computer technology have led to the success of contemporary dental CAD/CAM technology - used for decades in restorative dentistry and it has expanded its application additionally into implant dentistry, orthodontic treatment and diagnostics.
5 years ago when the Middle East market was still in its early stages we started the first CAD/CAM & Computerized Dentistry InternationalConference with enthusiasm and high self-confidence in this exciting field. In these short years we have seen not only the growth and development of computerized dentistry but also the fast rate in which the interest of Dentists, Dental Technicians and Dental Team Members has grown. The increase in participants since 2005 until now shows that not only is the technology advancing but with this so too is the level of dentistry.
I would like to welcome all dental professionals for the seventh time to the largest annual international event focusing entirely on Computerized Dentistry, which will be held in Singapore. We are very excited to organize such an event, which has built extremely important bridges in our dental team-dentists, dental technicians, and industry. In spite of our growing size, we have tried hard to maintain the family atmosphere at each conference and to keep our "Teamwork for excellent dentistry".
