Terms of payment
These Online Payment Terms apply to the use of the online payment transaction services (the Services) for the payment of certain types of transactions as made available by Centre for Advanced Professional Practices EVENTS Dubai, UAE from time to time through the CAPP EVENTS website.

These Online Payment Terms constitute a contract between you and CAPP EVENTS. Please read them carefully. You may either accept or decline the Terms as indicated at the bottom of this page, but to make payment using the Services you must accept the Terms by clicking "I Accept".

Please note that the Online Payment Terms may be altered or added to by the CAPP EVENTS at any time that CAPP EVENTS determines necessary, with or without notice. Please, therefore, ensure that you read the Terms carefully on each occasion that you use the Services.

Payment of registration fees
The registration fees can be paid in Dirhams (AED) or US dollars.
Payment may be made using only Visa or MasterCard Credit cards or Debit card.
Once a payment has been made it cannot be cancelled.

Refund/Cancellation policy
A Refund of the registration fee will be made as follows:
- Notification in writing 40 days prior the event -50% refund.
20 days prior to the event - no refund can be given.

Discounts
Only one(1) discount may be applied to an individual registration. Under no circumstances can any of the discounts be combined. Your registration must be paid in full in order to receive the pricing for those discounts.

Privacy Policy
All personal data provided to the Organizer for registration will be treated as confidential. The data shall be used and stored for further processing and documentation purposes. The information will not be re-used for an incompatible purpose.

Digital Orthodontic Forum 2017
(18 August 2017)


On Friday 18th August 2017, the Digital Orthodontic Forum will take place for its premier edition at Suntec, Singapore, Level 3. The event will gather top key opinion leaders focusing on the latest trends and developments in Digital Orthodontics. Digital dentistry can assist us in many ways, by assessing space and measuring the amount of crowding in cases, predicting treatment outcomes, assisting patients communication but also storing digitally model’s and treatment planning. With the introduction of 3D Printing in dentistry, the opportunities in Orthodontics have expanded from digital impression taking, to developing virtual treatment plans and 3D printing of dental models. The Digital Orthodontic Forum will illustrate the necessity for Orthodontists to look into digitalizing their working ways in order to save time, money and provide more efficient and effective treatments for the patients. The Forum will end with a much anticipated ‘Digital’ vs. ‘Analog’ debate discussing opinions of the Orthodontic societies present. Delegates will also have a sneakpeak at the latest technologies at the product display area throughout the Forum as well as enjoying free entrance to the Exhibition of the main 4th AP CAD/CAM & Digital Dentistry International Conference on 19-20th of August 2017.

    Dr Geraldine Lee is a Dean’s List graduate from the National University of Singapore (NUS) and was awarded the University Bronze Medal. She obtained her Masters of Dental Surgery in Orthodontics from NUS, as well as the Membership in Orthodontics of the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh, who awarded her Best Overseas Candidate. She is a Fellow of the Academy Of Medicine of Singapore and is a registered Dental Specialist in Orthodontics with the Singapore Dental Council.

    Dr Lee is a clinical lecturer to the Postgraduate Orthodontic programme at the Faculty of Dentistry (NUS) as well as a Visiting Specialist at the National Dental Centre of Singapore. She was the President of the Association of Orthodontists (Singapore) from 2015-2017, and is the Chairman of the Chapter of Orthodontics of the College of Dental Surgeons in Singapore.

    She is currently in private practice, and has a special interest in digital orthodontics to enhance patient care and communication, and surgery-first orthodontic–orthognathic management of patients with dentofacial deformities.

  • Lecture: Utilizing digital impression to improve treatment planning and patient communication
    Making the switch and going digital – Dr Geraldine Lee shares her experience in exploring digital orthodontics. She will discuss how implementing a digital orthodontic workflow in her practice has enhanced treatment planning, patient communication, as well as patient experience, and improved efficiency for her practice. Digital treatment planning and simulation allows orthodontists to try out different treatment options with accuracy and predictability, and allows patients to visualize their end result, greatly aiding in their decision-making. Dr Lee will also elaborate on digital treatment planning involved in the orthodontic-orthognathic management of patients with dentofacial-deformities, using the surgery-first orthognathic approach.

    Dr.Hero Breuning graduated as a dentist and an orthodontist from the University of Utrecht, the Netherlands, in 1981. He received his PhD in 2004 at the Free University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands . He maintained a private orthodontic office in the Netherlands for more than 25 years and was assistant professor 3D Imaging at the Department of Orthodontics and Craniofacial Biology Radboud University Nijmegen.. His research interest focuses on the accuracy of digital dental models, intraoral scanners and custom orthodontic appliances. He is lectures on the use of Digital planning of orthodontic treatment, Custom orthodontic appliances, CBCT images in orthodontics, bonding of brackets and effective use of TAD’s for orthodontic anchorage. His publications include research on intraoral distraction during orthodontic treatment, TAD’s, accuracy of digital dental models and the use of digital treatment planning in orthodontics.. Dr. Hero Breuning lectures extensively and has presented during major orthodontic conferences and in more than 17 countries. Recently he published together with professor Chung How Kau as editors and authors the textbook: Digital planning and Custom Orthodontic Appliances,.
  • Lecture 1: Custom appliance design and transfer of the appliances
    In this lecture, we will answer the question: Why should custom appliances replace traditional orthodontic appliances. Then we will focus on the design and fabrication of the custom orthodontic appliances. The last part of the lecture will focus on the transfer of the custom appliance systems to the dentition, the start of treatment and the need to monitor treatment progress.
  • Lecture 2: Comparison of Custom Orthodontic Appliances Systems
    In this lecture, we will compare the workflow of the custom appliance systems most frequently used in orthodontic offices. For orthodontic treatment with buccally placed brackets, customized standard brackets with custom wires, the customized brackets with custom clear wires from SimpliClear and the Insignia system are compared. We will also show all recent improvements of the suresmile system. For lingual treatment, the Win system, the Incognto system, the eBrace and eLock system are compared. For aligners, the use of Invisalign system and alternative aligner systems which can be used to finish a case after initial correction of the dentition with fixed appliances (“hybride appliances”) are discussed.

    Dr. Christensen graduated from the Royal Dental College, Copenhagen, Denmark in 1990. He received his PhD in 1993 from the Department of Orthodontics and the Department of Medical Anatomy at the University of Copenhagen. After postgraduate studies at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital he gained an MSc in Orthodontics and the Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
    Dr. Christensen is in private practice in Oxford, UK. He is an Honorary Clinical Lecturer at UCL Eastman Dental Institute, London. His current research interest focuses on clinical applications of digital technologies, modern bonding materials, MBT treatment mechanics, adult and aesthetic treatment. Dr. Christensen has been using the MBT appliance system since the introduction in 1997.
    Publications include developmental aspects of tooth development, anatomy, orthodontic bonding, aesthetic orthodontics, treatment mechanics and digital orthodontics. Dr. Christensen lectures extensively and has presented in Austral-Asia, Asia, Middle East, Europe as well as North and South America. He has presented more than 320 lectures around the world. He is a member of the British, European and American Associations of Orthodontics, The British Lingual Orthodontic Society and is an active Member of the Southern California component of the Edward H Angle Society.
  • Lecture 1: Digital Workflows in Orthodontics
    New ways of acquiring patient specific 3D data with intra-oral scanning systems have become available to clinicians allowing us to create a truly digital patient journey. Dr Christensen will examine pros and cons of various digital options and detail the workflow from initial consultation, imaging for diagnosis and treatment planning, model analysis and digital set-up options.

    Workflows deigned to improve the customization of orthodontic appliances and now available through laboratories and orthodontic manufacturing facilities in many parts of the world. The latest 3D printing technology is making several processes available in house in even small orthodontic clinics. Examples of digitally created customized appliances will be shown with clinical case material and emphasis will be made on the orthodontist’s ability to control the design and development of the appliances. Labial as well as lingual and removable appliance options will be demonstrated.

    Leaning objectives:
    • Understand the steps involved in data acquisition
    • The process of digital diagnosis and treatment planning
    • Develop an understanding for the appliances that can be generated from intra-oral 3D captured data
    • Customization of orthodontic appliances
    • 3D printing techniques
  • Lecture 2: Indirect bonding techniques
    The expansion in 3D data acquisition has expanded the possibilities in indirect bonding. In this presentation Dr Christensen will analyze different methods for indirect bonding. The advantages and disadvantages will be presented with elements of cost benefit analysis included. With the availability of accurate but inexpensive printing techniques the workflows are now not only an option for large orthodontic clinics or large laboratory setups.

    The presentation will show the evolution in the process of indirect bonding and argue that it is now time to get involved in indirect orthodontic bonding.

    Dr. Rhonda Coyne studied dentistry at the University of Queensland and is a 1998 University of Melbourne Alumnus. On graduation she joined her father’s family practice in Cairns and now runs three practices in Regional Far North Queensland. From a family of specialists and teachers she takes special interest in all forms of education, technology and professional development and is dedicated to being the best she can be. She has presented widely on a range of topics both inside and outside of orthodontics.
  • Lecture: Making your iTero scanner and Invisalign work for you and your patients
    In my practice, we are continually making changes to help improve the experience for our patients, to help increase practice efficiency and to improve the workplace for all the team. Developing effective protocols has been the key to patient acceptance of treatment and resulted in the increase in the number of patients that I have started to treat with the Invisalign System. I will share some of the changes we have made to help enable our success. Integrating the iTero scanner rather than traditional impressions fundamentally changed how we did what we did and it's a process that continues to evolve.

    Dr. Eric Lye Kok Weng graduated from National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 1998, receiving several awards along the way, including the University medal for being first in examination in the graduating year. He then underwent Oral and Maxillofacial surgery training at the National University of Singapore and received his Masters of Dental surgery in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 2003.

    He was selected for Ministry of Health’s Health manpower Development Programme award, and underwent fellowship training in the management of Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) at the University of Alabama at Birmingham from 2006 to 2007. Subsequent to that he has been managing OSA patients in Singapore’s public institutions. The Raboud University of Nimegen, Netherlands, accorded him his PhD in 2011 for his work in Biomaterials.

    He served in the public healthcare system from 2003 to 2015, working at NDCS, CGH, KKWCH and SGH. He was involved in all aspects of OMS work and was promoted to Senior Consultant by 2014. He has lectured both locally and internationally on numerous occasions, and has received several prizes for his presentations. He has also published on many areas in peer-reviewed journals. His passion in teaching also led to him becoming the Associate Programme Director for the MDS (OMS) programme at NUS from 2013 to 2015.

    His special interests are in the field of Dental Implants, Obstructive Sleep Apnea, Facial Aesthetics, 3D and Surgery First Approach Orthognathic Surgery.
  • Lecture: Enhanced management of orthodontic - orthognathic patients using new digital platforms
    Orthognathic surgery for the treatment of debtofacial deformities has been advancing steadily with the advent of new digital and 3D printing technology. The improved accuracy and ability using the digital workflow enables clinicians to handle most cases using the surgery first approach. This approach is most welcomed by patients as it handles the main complaints early and improves the overall speed, comfort and aesthetics of the whole treatment process. Dr Lye will elaborate on the step by step processes of digital treatment planning involved in the surgery first orthodontic-orthognathic management of patients with dentofacial-deformity.
